The term cognitive dissonance is used to describe the mental discomfort that results
from holding two conflicting beliefs, values, or attitudes.
People tend to seek consistency in their attitude and perceptions, so this conflict
causes feelings of unease or discomfort.
This inconsistency between what people believe and how they behave motivates
people to engage in actions that will help minimize feelings of discomfort.
People attempt to relieve this tension in different ways, such as by rejecting,
explaining away, or avoiding new information.
Tip…
If you are turning up to waters and your head starts spinning
as to which bait, method, line to fish etc.
One of the worst things you can do is go for a walk around the water and ask every
other angler on the water for advice.
The conflicting information from a dozen different anglers will simply make things
even worse.
Tip…..Sit down, have a brew, relax.
Watch the water for 30 mins, keep your eye on your margin swim.
Think it through, and formulate a manageable plan.
If that takes an hour or two, so be it there is no rush.
Try tying your rigs on the bank, and matching them to the conditions, this will
calm you down and help you focus.
Remember, 5 minutes in the right place, with the right technique, doing it
correctly, beats 24 hours fucking it up.
Do not follow the fashion on any water.
There is no Right Rig or Right Bait!!!
Use a Sharpe Hook, and a Carp Bait, in the Right Location and you are 95% of the
way there.
The most important piece of your Carp Tackle, is the super computer inside your
HEAD!!
Tight lines.
