- it’s not simply down to luck!
I started my fishing life as a hard core Match Angler. (Lincoln Wheatears as a junior in the
1970’s). I won my fair share of Matches.
I actually caught my first small Carp in the late 1970’s by mistake during a Juniors Match on
Boultham Park Lake. Lincoln.
I joined the British Army in 1981 (Junior Leaders RA) and became Match Captain of the RA
Team. I captained the team to victory winning the Junior Army title in 1982.
Over 15 years’ service in the British Army I went on to win almost every Match Fishing Title the
British Army had.
My first full year targeting Carp with Carp Gear was 1987/8. My first carp was a 6Lb Common,
30 + years of carp fishing.
I’m still Carp Fishing every week, several days a week.
